2012 Lone Star State Scholars Night @ the Ballpark

Thank you to all who attended our 2011 Lone Star State Scholars Night with the Texas Rangers. We hope you had a great time. The information below is about our 2011 event. We will update this page with 2012 information once we finalize the date and details. Tickets will go on sale for our 2012 event on May 1, 2012. Thanks!

It's back! After rave reviews and a huge crowd for our first four Lone Star State Scholars Night at the ballpark, we are following through on our promise to continue the tradition and have another night this year. We heard so many kind notes and comments from people who traveled from all over the state to be part of this special event. We're happy to say, we're going to have another great event in 2011!

We are still finalizing all the details but will post them when they are set. We will again hold our pre-game "Salute to The Scholars" where Scholars and their families (who purchase tickets through Lone Star State Scholars) will be invited to a special event. While we won't know the details until later, we expect this to include special appearances from former Texas Rangers, performances from Scholars, giveaways and other fun happenings!

Special PreGame Ceremony to Honor Scholars
Prior to the game at the Ballpark @ Arlington, Scholars will take part in a special ceremony in which the Scholars will be honored. We are still in the process of planning this event but in the past we have had both Ranger alumni, current Rangers players, the Six Shooters (Ranger cheerleaders), and the Ranger Mascot on hand. We expect Rangers alumni to be on hand to speak and/or sign autographs for Scholars and their families only. Details for this event are still being finalized and will be updated on this web site when it is known.

Kenny Rodgers Induction Ceremony
After the Salute to Scholars Event but before the game, long-time pitcher Kenny Rodgers will be inducted into the Rangers Hall of Fame with a special pre-game ceremony. Click here to read the press release regarding this happening.

Free Gift
The Texas Rangers will provide each Lone Star State Scholar with a special gift. This will be some sort of Texas Rangers merchandise such as a hat, t-shirt, backpack, lunchbox, or other item. Scholars who purchase their tickets through Lone Star State Scholars will receive a coupon to redeem for this merchandise at the Salute to Scholars event. The item that will be given to Scholars has not yet been finalized. This is the Rangers way of saying Congratulations Scholars!

Seats
Lone Star State Scholars will sit in three different areas of the stadium so that you have a choice of seats for your enjoyment and family budget. Lower deck Corner Box seats provide a great perspective for the action ($48 per ticket). Lower Reserved seats provide additional lower deck perspectives to the action ($36 per ticket). Lexus Club Terrace seats provide club level seating and amenities ($29 per ticket). Due to the popularity of the Rangers, dependent upon sales, we reserve the right to change these options should certain sections sell out.

GameDay T-Shirts Available
Again this year, you will have a chance to buy a special commemorative t-shirt for the event. You'll see many Scholars and their families wearing this popular t-shirt. (Pictures on this web site contain shirts from previous years). T-Shirts will be shipped prior to the game so participants may wear them to the game. Cost of the T-Shirt is $13.95.

Ticket Processing Fee: Your order will incur a $9.50 ticket processing fee that includes putting together your order and any shipping and handling regardless of how many tickets or shirts you may order. (This compares very favorably to ordering tickets online through Ticketmaster (where you would not be eligible to participate in the Scholars special events) and you would pay a $1.75 order processing fee plus a ticket fee of $4.00 (Corner box) or $3.75 (Bleacher) per ticket!)

Hotel Information

Lone Star State Scholars has secured a limited number of hotel rooms for Scholars coming in from out-of-town and a special discounted rate at the Crowne Plaza Suites Arlington. The room is perfect for families to stay in. Each room is a suite featuring one room with either a king bed or two doubles, and a pull-out full size sleeper sofa in the other room. There are two TVs in each suite (one in the bedroom and one in the other room) as well as a refrigerator and free wireless Internet. The hotel features the only indoor pool in Arlington and has two restaurants. The hotel is located 2.5 miles from the ballpark.
